Where to Shoot Your Pre-Wedding in Lucknow

“Where can I shoot pre-wedding in Lucknow?” is one of the most common questions we get, and it's more complicated to answer honestly than most photographers let on — because the answer has changed. A number of the city's best-loved locations have moved from free entry to paid permission over the last year or so, and most of what's written online hasn't caught up.

Here's where things actually stand.

Locations that now require permission Bara Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, the Gomti Riverfront, Janeshwar Mishra Park, Dilkusha, and Joggers Park are all beautiful, all still worth shooting at — and all now involve a paid permission process for a pre-wedding shoot, which wasn't always the case. The requirements differ from place to place, and they change from time to time, so we check what's currently needed before we plan a shoot at any of them, and we handle the arrangements as part of your booking.

Hazratganj remains open to shoot in without a location fee — one of the few genuinely free options left among the well-known spots, and a good choice if you'd rather not deal with permissions at all.

Private shoot venues like Shoot Destination and Pictureganj are a different kind of option altogether — purpose-built sets, booked in advance, with more control over the look and fewer surprises on the day. They come with their own booking fee, but nothing to arrange with a third party.

None of this is a reason to avoid the beautiful, permission-required locations — Bara Imambara's arches and Rumi Darwaza's scale are worth the paperwork, and we've planned enough shoots at each to know what the light does there and when to arrive. It's just worth knowing before you fall in love with a location that it isn't as simple as it used to be.
