A pre-wedding shoot shouldn't feel like a performance. We plan around the light, walk the city with you for a few unhurried hours, and photograph what happens between the poses.
That in-between — the laugh after the frame, the hand reaching out of habit — is usually the part you'll want to keep.
Why a pre-wedding shoot is worth it
Most couples have never been photographed together properly. A few hours in front of a camera before the wedding does something quiet and useful.
By the time the wedding morning arrives, we are not strangers to each other — and neither is the lens. Couples who do a pre-wedding shoot are visibly more relaxed in their wedding photographs.

Locations that now require permission
- Bara Imambara
- The stonework holds a warm, diffused light for the first hour after sunrise, before the crowds and the hard overhead sun arrive. Permission and a shoot fee now apply here.
- Rumi Darwaza
- Best just after first light, when the arch is still in soft shade and the road is quiet. Permission and a shoot fee now apply here.
- Gomti Riverfront
- Open sky and water bounce make the last hour before sunset unusually kind. Permission and a shoot fee now apply here.
- Janeshwar Mishra Park
- Long lawns and tree lines give clean backlight in the golden hour, early morning or late evening. A shoot fee and permission are now required, where a normal entry ticket once sufficed.
- Dilkusha
- Ruined walls cut the light into columns — late afternoon is when it is at its most cinematic. Permission and a shoot fee now apply here.
- Joggers Park
- Dense green and dappled shade suit an overcast morning or the hour before sunset. Permission and a shoot fee now apply here.
Private shoot locations
Shoot Destination and Pictureganj are purpose-built shoot venues — controlled sets, privacy from passers-by, and a booking made in advance for a fee.
Open locations, and anywhere of your own
Hazratganj remains open to shoot in without a location fee. And if you have a place of your own in mind — a home, a farm, a road you both like — we shoot there. We are not limited to a fixed list of locations.
Most couples are surprised to learn that the city's best-known locations now need paid permission. The requirements differ from place to place and change from time to time, so we advise on what each location currently involves and arrange the permissions as part of planning your shoot.

Destination pre-weddings
We travel for pre-wedding shoots, and have photographed couples in Jabalpur, Nainital, Dehradun, Jaipur and Udaipur.
A destination shoot is planned differently: travel arranged around the light rather than the timetable, a longer window than a city shoot, and a day spent scouting ahead so nothing is discovered for the first time while you are standing in it.

Questions couples ask
- How far in advance should we book a pre-wedding shoot?
- As early as you can — a month or two ahead is comfortable. Some locations now need written permission arranged in advance, and the light you want at a particular place only happens at a particular hour, so a little notice lets us plan properly rather than improvise.
- How long does a pre-wedding shoot take?
- Three to four unhurried hours on the day. That is enough time to move slowly, let you both settle, and follow the light as it changes rather than rushing a list of frames.
- How many locations can we cover in one shoot?
- Usually one or two within a single window. Travel between locations eats the good light, so we would rather photograph one place properly than pass through three.
- Do pre-wedding shoot locations in Lucknow charge a fee?
- Most of the city's well-known locations now require paid permission for a pre-wedding shoot, which was not the case until recently. Requirements differ by location and change from time to time. Hazratganj remains open without a location fee, and private venues such as Shoot Destination and Pictureganj are booked for a fee. - Do you travel outside Lucknow for pre-wedding shoots?
- Yes. We have photographed destination pre-weddings in Jabalpur, Nainital, Dehradun, Jaipur and Udaipur, and we travel wherever the two of you would rather be.
- When will we receive our photographs?
- Edited photographs are delivered within 15–20 days.
